How does Microwave Magnetron Works?

Microwave Magnetron

Microwave is more useful in a kitchen. Microwaves have revolutionized the kitchen. From re-heating leftovers to meals in a minute, the ease and high efficiency of microwaves has seen them become an universal kitchen appliance.

In this article we will discuss how does a microwave works? How does it get heated and cook 10 min faster than oven or a cook top ? The oven's are namesake but microwave are a type of radio wave that specially affects water molecules and it produces the magnetron.

What is Magnetron?

The Magnetron radio waves make water molecules move around very fast and the movement of this friction between water molecules, which creates the heat. This is the reason substances with water get hot in a microwave but why plates, cups or dry rice won't cook ? It's also one of the reason that food in a microwave cooks evenly.

People always says that microwave cooks from inside out and referring to the difference with deportation heating where it directly generates the heat source and cooks directionally. Microwaves has metal walls inside, so that within the enclosure electro-magneticenergy stays and it doesn't escape until it cooks well. After all we are made up of 70% water.

Operating a empty microwave will always give same result as putting a metal object (fork) inside of it. The microwaves can not be absorbed and that will reflect off the metal walls or object until sparks fly- an obvious free from fire...!!!

What is Super Heating ?

Food and liquids especially can be super heated. This says that when it reaches to the 100 degrees, water won't necessarily boiled. Super Heated liquids will bubble when it is moved or something like tea bag or spoon disturbs it. Some Microwave Makers suggested that microwave heated liquids stands for 30 sec before moving them.
